This week (1-7 June 2020) is National Volunteers' Week, an annual celebration of the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering.
We have 663 volunteers at Thames Hospice who all give up their time to support our work; whether that is in one of our charity shops, at the Hospice or out in our community. Every volunteer is a vital part of the organisation and we wouldn't be able to provide the services we do for our community without the valuable input of every one.
At the moment many of our volunteers are unable to volunteer in their usual roles. With the coronavirus pandemic many of our volunteers are self isolating, or their roles have been temporarily stopped in accordance to lockdown restrictions. We have seen extraordinary dedication from those who have been able to carry on in their roles, as well as many volunteers supporting the Hospice in various creative ways from home.
As we can't get together in the usual way to celebrate Volunteers' Week, we wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate and thank all the amazing volunteers across our organisation. We released a series of new videos from different departments around the Hospice, thanking our incredible volunteers. Click here to watch the full playlist on our Youtube channel.
Below is a message from our CEO, Debbie Raven:
As we look forward to a bright future in our new hospice, we also look ahead to some exciting new volunteer roles. If you are interested in volunteering with us at the new hospice, please do register your interest by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
