The landscape of the new hospice site is continually changing and progressing on a weekly basis. The very first foundations of the building were laid yesterday, along with the watercourse which will be one of the stunning features of our new hospice.
In order to lay the foundations of our new hospice, piling operations have commenced. The piling process involves drilling holes into the ground which are over 9 metres deep. These are then filled in with concrete and have a metal cage inserted for reinforcement. Once the piles are completed our construction workers can then commence with the reinforced concrete foundations.
So far over 390 piles have been formed on the site!
