It's not long until our 'Move for Change' challenge kicks off on the 1st January 2020! If you're looking for a flexible and fun fitness challenge for January, you've come to the right place!
The target is 31 miles over January: this works out at just one mile a day (between 20 to 40 minutes of walking a day, depending on fitness and this may vary from person to person). You'll get fit and fundraising for Thames Hospice at the same time: sign up here and then share with your friends and family to get sponsored.
1.) It's flexible
Walk or run wherever you are:even steps to work count towards your goal, even walking to work counts.
2.) Invite friends and family to join you in the challenge!
You can walk (or run) with your friends and family or with colleagues (as staff at Thames Hospice did for the previous challenge, collectively taking over 260,000 steps!). It's a great chance to get fit and catch up with people!
3.) Walk your dog
Steps walking your dog count...
4.) Track your progress easily and fundraise in one place
If you have a fitness app such as 'FitBit,' you can connect this to the fundraising platform easily to track your progress! If you don't, you can add in your miles online as you go! Either way, you can sign up for free and share the page with your friends and family. To take a look, please visit: https://www.givepenny.com/event/moveforchange
5.) Take a day off...or challenge yourself daily
The challenge is flexible to fit around you: whether you want to get into a routine of walking daily or walking five miles one day and taking a break another day: it's completely up to you as long as you hit the target of 31 miles by 1st February!
